To my baby on your 23rd birthday
I had a dream
I had a dream
That dream is you
To have a daughter
Sweet and bright
Who loves me
Even when it hurts
Accepting my crude, rude
My rough edges
Simply me
The ill me
Rough, bruised, broken
You appreciate
The beauty within the beast
Who loves you
And will gladly sacrifice anything for you
Whatever is within my means
And while I am sound and sane
I will do what I can to be a mum
I have a special gift for you
I dedicate to you on your 23rd birthday
It is to serve you through this period when I am on leave
It is my support for you as being top on my list
Of care and concern for my kids
Whom I love deep from within
Indeed. thinking of both of you
Often brings tears to my eyes
As I wish I had been and am a better mother
But I am just doing my best so please
Love me warts and all
Just the way I am
My dearest, I love you
Just the way you are
And I never stop praying
That you will start praying
And find refuge and solace
In our Beloved God
Alhamdulillah
Thank You for this beautiful, artistic soul
Thank You for this blessing –
Sweet, petite, Ayesha Jumari
